In 2020, EDME ushered in the first round of “evolution”, from a pure exhibition mode to an exhibition + conference mode, through the organization of professional conferences to enhance the quality of the audience on site, so DAF was born. The DAF was born shortly after the new crown epidemic of 2020-2022 and the industry crisis beginning in 2023. As seen from the data in Chart 1, the pre-registration of the first event was not high, and due to the epidemic in 2021, DAF was postponed and moved to Nanjing in 2022, although the cumulative pre-registered visitors in 2021 and 2022 reached 1,007, but due to the impact of the closure control, the actual attendance rate was only 32%. In 2022, China's real estate market showed a downward trend, and DAF entered the second round of “evolution” - opening up the Shenzhen market, changing from exhibition + conference to conference + exhibition, and accelerating the proportion of professional visitors. LEVEL UP Opening up the Shenzhen market Thanks to the advantages of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and the Shenzhen Bay Super Headquarters, as well as the strong support of the Shenzhen Registered Architects Association and the Shenzhen Civil Engineering and Architectural Society, the 2023 Shenzhen DAF Conference has bucked the trend and achieved great success. It is worth mentioning that this event was also the first time the organizing committee tried to adjust the event from the exhibition hall to a five-star hotel. According to Chart 2, the attendance rate of DAF Congresses 2023 and 2024 in Shenzhen is undoubtedly the highest. Therefore, the organizing committee has decided that from 2025 onwards, the Shanghai DAF Congress will copy the model of the Shenzhen stop and be housed in a five-star hotel. DAF The environment of China's real estate industry is changing radically. It is inevitable that the number of new buildings will decrease, but on the contrary, owners will have more sufficient funds and raise the quality requirements for new buildings. Architects and curtain wall consultants will naturally have more room to maneuver, and resources on the design side of the equation will become a must for material suppliers. DAF has spared no effort in layig out the resources of A-side and design side since the project planning in 2023, which is also the third round of “evolution” of DAF. As seen in Chart 3, although 2023 is the year when China's construction industry will be most negatively impacted by the real estate industry, the number of registrations and attendance of DAF's A-side, architects and curtain wall consultants are on an upward trend. Among them, the indicators of Shenzhen DAF conference, especially the attendance rate of A-side and architects is in the absolute advantageous position, which also confirms that the effect of DAF held in the hotel is obviously better than the exhibition hall. By the end of November 2024, the cumulative (de-weighted) total data of registered professional visitors (A-side, architects, curtain wall consultants, curtain wall construction) of DAF Architectural Surfaces Conference reaches 1,538 people. Among them, the cumulative data of Shanghai Station registered for 2020, 2022, 2023 and 2024 is 1,022 people, and the cumulative data of Shenzhen Station registered for 2023 and 2024 is 598 people, refer to Chart 4 for specific values.
